So, I think I mentioned that I hadn’t sewn in months, and then I realized that was a fib. You see, I had signed up to play in the ‘For The Love Of Solids Swap’ over on Flickr. I was assigned Colleen, who was assigned me. It was really fun to make something for someone I actually knew in real life, but also more challenging. What if I made something rubbish? Would I be forever ostracized?
I managed to come up with this. It was actually sewn while visiting my sweet mom in FL and I will confess I needed her help. The top pillow is my taffy go round tutorial I posted over on Leona’s blog. The bottom was supposed to be the back for the top. It is pretty improv-ish, but I loved how it turned out, so I added a bit of hand quilting and sent them on their way!
You see I haven’t really been feeling up to sitting up, or standing up. Or just being up…But that is all over and I am THRILLED to announce that our little family is about to grow, again!
So, now that the first bit is over, I can get on to sewing again! Because, come Easter, I will have a new little one to adore and that sewing machine may find itself on the back burner again!
ps: do stop over at Penny’s for today’s awesome new tutorial (the world’s cutest trivet!) and giveaway!

What exciting news. Im just a tad envious of the adventure before you. (My family is mostly grown now and the baby factory is closed.)
Congratulations! Babies are the biggest ”time-wasters” but it’s the best time you’ll ever ‘waste’. My sewing machine practically went into storage as my first 2 were 19 months apart!
